Lauren Sanchez dropped a line in her New York Times interview this weekend that got people talking fast. When asked about having more children, the 56-year-old didn’t pause.
“I would have another one tomorrow. Tomorrow. I would have a baby tomorrow.”
So is she pregnant? No. A spokesperson shut that down quickly. Sanchez is not expecting. She was just being candid about where her head is at right now, 10 months into her marriage with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez already parent seven children
The couple got married in Venice in June 2025. Big ceremony. Lots of famous faces. And a whole lot of kids already in the picture.
Sanchez brings three from her side. Nikko is 25. She had him with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez. Then there’s Evan, 19, and Ella, 18, both from her previous marriage to Patrick Whitesell, a major Hollywood talent agent.
Bezos has four kids with his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott. Three boys, one girl. He rarely talks about them publicly.
That’s seven kids total. All of them stood up and gave speeches at the Venice wedding. Sanchez has talked about this before. She told Today back in March that those speeches hit harder than anything else that day. Harder than the vows. Harder than the venue. She called it the most meaningful moment of the whole thing.
Her son Evan’s speech got to her the most. He’s dyslexic. When he was in fourth grade he could barely write. Then one day he put down five words on paper. “I can do this.” Sanchez blew it up, printed it big, stuck it on the kitchen wall. Years later, at the wedding, Evan brought it up in front of everyone. She had no idea he was going to say that.
Sanchez called Bezos her best friend and said she tells him everything. The two recently co-chaired the 2026 Met Gala. Weeks before that, Sanchez showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars party in a vintage John Galliano gown dripping with 85 carats of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. On the red carpet she waved Bezos out of her solo shots. He stepped aside.
She also told the Times she’s 20% happier since getting married. No baby confirmed yet. But if Sanchez gets her way, the family of nine might not stay at seven for long.
