From flower gardens to lakeside picnics, here are the best UAE spots for a family day out this Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha 2026 brings one of the longest breaks of the year in the UAE. With Arafat Day on Tuesday, May 26 and Eid al-Adha beginning Wednesday, May 27, most residents are looking at a stretch of days off, and many at a full week once the weekend is added in.
That is a lot of time to fill, especially with children at home. If you are after a family day out that does not involve a mall, here are some of the best spots across the UAE to gather, relax and take a few photos worth keeping.
Top UAE Spots for Eid Family Outings and Photos
Dubai Miracle Garden
If you want photos, this is a wonderful place to start. Dubai Miracle Garden is billed as the world’s largest natural flower garden, with more than 150 million blooms across themed displays. This season runs until May 31, so the Eid break is one of the last chances to see it before it closes for summer. Expect a flower-covered Emirates A380 replica, a heart-shaped arch tunnel, a Smurfs village, and umbrella-lined walkways, all of which photograph beautifully. It draws large crowds on holidays, so visiting earlier in the day is a good idea.
Al Qudra Lakes
For something calmer and free, Al Qudra Lakes in Dubai is a stretch of man-made lakes in the desert, popular for early morning and evening picnics. Families bring mats, food, and folding chairs and settle in as the light softens. You will often spot birds, and sometimes wildlife, around the water. There are no entry gates and no tickets. Just bring everything you need, including water and shade, and take all your rubbish back out with you.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
For many families, an Eid outing in Abu Dhabi begins at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The white marble, reflecting pools, and detailed design make it one of the most photographed places in the country. It is open to visitors outside of prayer times, and visits are free. Modest dress is required for everyone, so it is worth planning outfits accordingly. As with Miracle Garden, mornings tend to be quieter than evenings.
Zabeel Park
Zabeel Park is one of Dubai’s largest and most central green spaces, which makes it an easy pick for big family gatherings. There is plenty of lawn for children to run around, shaded areas, walking tracks, and space to spread out a proper picnic. Its central location means most of the family can reach it without a long drive, which helps when you are coordinating a large group.
Global Village
Global Village is a lovely evening option. The multicultural destination has extended its 30th season and now stays open through the Eid holiday until May 31, with pavilions from more than 90 cultures, street food, rides, and live shows. It opens at 5pm, which suits the warmer days of late May, as you can enjoy it once the heat eases. It is ideal for families who want food, shopping and entertainment in one place.
Tips for an Easy Eid Family Day Out
A little planning goes a long way on a holiday outing. The first thing to keep in mind is the weather. Late May in the UAE is warm, so the most comfortable hours are early morning and evening. If you are heading to Miracle Garden or the Grand Mosque, it is best to arrive before midday. It is worth checking timings before you set out. Holiday hours can differ from regular ones, and some of these outdoor attractions are close to their summer closing dates.
However you choose to spend the break, the UAE has no shortage of places to bring the family together this Eid. Whether it is a quiet morning by the lakes or a busy evening at Global Village, the long holiday is a good chance to slow down and enjoy the day with the people who matter most.
