Apple Music is officially available in Pakistan, ending an 11-year wait for users seeking access to Apple’s music streaming service through local Apple accounts. The service became available in the country on September 30, 2026, with subscriptions starting at Rs379 per month.
The launch was part of a wider expansion that also brought Apple Music to Albania, Brunei and Burkina Faso. The four additions increased the service’s availability to 172 countries and regions.
According to reports, the expansion was identified through Apple’s Media Services availability information. Pakistani users can now subscribe using a Pakistan-based Apple account without relying on an account registered in another country.
Apple Music offers two subscription options in Pakistan: an Individual plan priced at Rs379 per month and a Family plan costing Rs649 per month.
New subscribers are eligible for a one-month free trial, after which the selected subscription renews automatically unless cancelled.
The Family plan provides access for multiple family members, while the Individual plan is intended for a single subscriber. Both plans offer access to Apple Music’s catalogue of songs, albums and playlists.
The service also supports features such as personalised music recommendations, offline downloads and high-quality audio options, including lossless audio and Dolby Atmos, where supported.
Users can access Apple Music through the Music application on compatible Apple devices and through its web player.
Apple originally introduced Apple Music in June 2015, initially making the service available in more than 100 countries and regions.
Despite its international rollout, Pakistan remained excluded from the service’s official availability for approximately 11 years.
During that period, users seeking Apple Music subscriptions through Pakistan-based accounts could not officially access the service in the same way as customers in supported markets.
The September 2026 expansion changes that availability, allowing local users to subscribe through their Pakistani accounts.
Apple’s official media services availability information lists the countries and regions where its digital services can be accessed, although the availability of individual products and features varies by market.
The launch gives Pakistani subscribers access to Apple’s international music catalogue alongside playlists and recommendations curated for different genres and listening preferences.
Apple Music’s Pakistan platform also features locally relevant music selections, including Pakistani artists and playlists.
Its Pakistan-facing web platform includes collections such as All-Time Pakistani Hits, featuring music across genres including qawwali, rap and disco.
Artist collections also include music associated with performers such as Atif Aslam, Sajjad Ali, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Junoon, Strings and Hasan Raheem.
The availability of these collections provides users with access to Pakistani music alongside international releases.
However, not every Apple service has launched in Pakistan. Apple Music Classical, the company’s separate classical music streaming application, remains unavailable in the country.
Apple Music’s arrival also adds another international subscription-based music streaming service to Pakistan’s digital entertainment market.
Spotify launched in Pakistan in 2021, approximately five years after its international debut in 2008. Its presence established an existing music streaming option for local users before Apple’s official entry.
Apple Music and Spotify both offer music libraries, playlists and personalised listening features, although their subscription structures and platform integrations differ.
With its Pakistan launch, Apple Music is now accessible through local accounts, expanding the range of officially available music streaming services.
The September 30 announcement marks a significant change in Apple’s service availability in Pakistan, bringing the country into its expanding international music streaming network after more than a decade.
