Turkish Airlines will restart its Istanbul to Abu Dhabi route on July 1, restoring its full UAE network.
Turkish Airlines is bringing back its Abu Dhabi service. The National reported that the carrier will resume flights between Istanbul and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport on July 1, completing the restoration of its full UAE network after months of disruption tied to regional conflict and airspace restrictions.
The Abu Dhabi restart follows the airline’s return to Dubai. Service between Istanbul and Dubai resumed on June 9, and the carrier plans to double its Dubai frequency from seven weekly flights to 14 starting June 25. That move brings the daily Dubai to Istanbul connection back to its normal schedule.
The suspension stretched across the wider Gulf. The airline had temporarily halted services to parts of the region earlier this year amid airspace closures and operational disruption linked to the conflict. Carriers across the Middle East were forced to cancel or reroute thousands of flights as countries closed or restricted their airspace for safety reasons. UAE airspace fully reopened at the start of May, clearing the way for the phased return of foreign airlines.
Turkish Airlines Istanbul to Abu Dhabi Flight Schedule
For travelers planning trips, the Abu Dhabi route comes with a fixed weekly pattern. What’s On reported that the Istanbul to Abu Dhabi service will run four times a week once it relaunches.
The schedule runs on overnight timings. Flight TK868 departs Istanbul at 6.45pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, landing in Abu Dhabi at 12.25am. The return leg, TK869, leaves Abu Dhabi at 1.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving back in Istanbul at 5.25am. On the Dubai route, return fares start from around Dhs3,200.
The return reconnects UAE passengers with a major transit hub. With both Abu Dhabi and Dubai services restored, travelers in the Emirates regain access to the airline’s global network through Istanbul, one of the region’s largest long-haul connection points. That matters for expats using the city as a gateway to Europe, the Americas, and beyond.
Turkish Airlines UAE Network Back in Full
The Abu Dhabi resumption marks the final piece of the carrier’s UAE recovery. With Dubai already flying and Abu Dhabi set to follow on July 1, the airline returns to a complete two-city operation in the Emirates.
Turkish officials framed the Dubai restart as a signal of confidence in the market. Luftullah Goktas, the Turkish Ambassador to the UAE, said the decision to resume served as a tangible indicator of confidence in the country and the importance attached to the strategic partnership between the two sides. He made the comments as the Istanbul to Dubai route came back online earlier in June.
Turkish Airlines is part of a broader wave of returns. Time Out Dubai reported that several foreign carriers that had suspended operations during the airspace restrictions announced plans to return to Dubai International Airport over the summer travel season. Local airlines Emirates and flydubai had already ramped up their own operations in the weeks after the airspace reopened.
