Pakistan Wins Big at F-Class World Championship 2026

Pakistan claimed the individual world title and a record medal haul at the 7th F-Class World Championship in Bisley.

Pakistan closed out a landmark run at the 7th F-Class World Championship, held at Bisley in the United Kingdom from August 12 to 16, 2026. The event drew 207 of the world’s top long-range shooters from 24 countries. Pakistan sent one of the smallest squads in the field, just 12 shooters, and still walked away with the biggest returns of the meet.

According to Pakistan Armed Forces News, the team took the highest FTR medal tally at the Championship in the individual matches, finishing with 4 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze. FTR, or F-Class Target Rifle, is a discipline shot prone with a bipod and a rear rest. At this level it is contested across 800, 900 and 1,000 yards, distances that leave no room for a loose shot.

The Championship ran in two stages. Individual matches were held on August 12 and 13. The prestigious World Championship FTR Team Match followed on August 15 and 16. Scores carried across all three distances, so a shooter had to stay sharp from the first relay to the last.

Junaid Ali Crowned Individual FTR World Champion

Lt Col Junaid Ali led the charge. He was crowned Individual FTR World Champion, the title widely seen as the centerpiece of the event because it rewards consistency at every distance rather than a single strong day. NRA UK results show he topped the individual standings with a score of 72.6v, edging out South Africa’s Hermann Rolfes and Canada’s Adam MacDonald for the gold.

Junaid Ali finished the meet with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, the standout individual haul of Pakistan’s campaign. Sepoy Waleed added 1 gold and 1 bronze. The younger shooters held their own too. In the Under-25 category, Huzaifa Gill collected 3 silver and 2 bronze, while Ahsan Gill secured 1 bronze.

Those numbers matter in a sport where margins are thin. A single dropped point across a long string can push a shooter off the podium, so a mixed haul of gold, silver and bronze from one team points to steady form rather than a lucky run.

Pakistan Shooters Finish in Global Top 100

The depth ran well beyond the medalists. Seven Pakistani shooters placed among the top 100 competitors: Lt Col Junaid Ali, Sepoy Waleed, Obaid, Qasim, Huzaifa Gill, Junaid Waqas and Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez. For a 12-member squad, having more than half the group finish inside the top 100 of a world field speaks to the strength of the whole team.

The result followed an equally strong showing days earlier at the F-Class British Open 2026, staged at the same venue. Pakistan Today reported the squad won 13 medals there, including seven gold, two silver and four bronze, again with one of the smallest contingents in a field of roughly 185 shooters. The team was led at that event by Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez. The Open ran from August 3 to 8 and served as a tune-up for the World Championship on the same ranges.

Bisley is regarded as one of the most demanding ranges in the sport. Wind, temperature, atmospheric pressure and shifting light can undo a perfect shot in seconds. A competitor can make the right wind call, fire, and watch conditions turn before the bullet lands. That unpredictability is why placing high at Bisley carries real weight among long-range shooters, and why experience on the range counts for so much.

Pakistan arrived with a small group and left with an individual world champion, the top FTR medal tally of the Championship and seven names in the global top 100. It stands as the country’s strongest performance at the event to date.
