Global Village, Ain Dubai, Dubai Parks Suspend Operations

Global Village, Ain Dubai, and Dubai Parks and Resorts have all temporarily shut their doors as a precautionary measure amid the ongoing regional situation.

If you had plans to visit some of Dubai's biggest attractions this week, check the official websites before heading out. Several major venues have suspended operations and, as of March 9, remain closed until further notice.

According to Gulf News, Global Village, Ain Dubai, and Dubai Parks and Resorts have all confirmed temporary closures in line with official guidance, with visitor and staff safety cited as the primary reason. Authorities are continuing to monitor the regional situation, and updates will be communicated through official channels.

The closures have been rolling since March 1, when the first wave of precautionary shutdowns was announced following the escalation of conflict in the Middle East. US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28 triggered retaliatory attacks across the Gulf, prompting UAE authorities to advise residents and visitors to follow official safety guidance and limit unnecessary movement.

Global Village, Ain Dubai, Dubai Parks: What Visitors Need to Know

Global Village, one of Dubai's most visited family destinations during Ramadan, is now closed until further notice. The park had been running special Ramadan programming this season, including live stage shows and a nightly drone show, all of which have been suspended. Visitors are advised to follow the attraction's official website and social media channels for reopening updates.

Ain Dubai, the world's largest observation wheel located on Bluewaters Island, has also confirmed its temporary closure. Guests with existing bookings are encouraged to check the official website before making any plans.

Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is home to LEGOLAND Dubai, Motiongate, Real Madrid World, and Riverland, has been shut since March 1. The complex posted on Instagram that the closure was a precautionary safety measure in line with official guidance. Visitors holding tickets or reservations should check the attraction's website for the latest information on rescheduling.

Dubai Festival City Mall remains operational, with retail and dining open as normal. The nightly water and light show is still running. However, the Ramadan drone show at the mall has been postponed until further notice.

Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah and the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi also announced closures earlier in the month, with operations suspended across all activities and guided tours.

What Is Still Open in Dubai

Despite the closures, most of Dubai's day-to-day life is continuing normally. Restaurants, hotels, malls, and retail outlets across the city remain open. Dubai Mall and The Dubai Fountain are operational. The Ministry of Education extended remote learning for all public and private schools through March 6, though classes have since resumed on an assessed basis.

Authorities have reminded residents not to rely on unofficial sources for updates and to avoid stopping or filming any incidents. All venue operators have said they will communicate reopening dates through their official websites and social media pages as soon as conditions allow.

Anyone with existing bookings at the affected attractions is advised to reach out directly to the venue or monitor official channels for information on refunds or rescheduling.

Stay tuned for more updates!
