The wait for outdoor enthusiasts across the United Arab Emirates is finally over. Officials in Ras Al Khaimah have confirmed that Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the country, will officially reopen its gates to the public this Saturday, January 31st. The reopening comes at the perfect time, as the UAE continues to enjoy its peak winter season, offering the crisp mountain air and cooler temperatures that residents and expatriates look forward to all year long.

Following a period of essential maintenance works and comprehensive safety assessments, the destination is ready to resume its role as the premier hub for nature, adventure, and wellness. The 2025/26 season, themed “Where Life Comes Together,” aims to provide a shared space for discovery and connection. For the expat community and local families alike, this announcement marks a welcome return to one of the most scenic landscapes in the region.

Immediate Openings for the Weekend

Starting this Saturday, visitors will have access to several of the mountain’s most iconic attractions. Leading the charge is Jais Flight, officially recognized as the world’s longest zipline. Thrill seekers who have missed the adrenaline rush of soaring across the Hajar Mountains at high speeds can once again book their flights.

In addition to the high-speed adventures, the reopening includes the rugged hiking and cycling trails that wind through the limestone peaks. These paths offer a unique perspective of the natural beauty of Ras Al Khaimah and are a staple for the fitness community during the winter months. Whether you are an experienced mountain biker or a family looking for a leisurely stroll with a view, the trails are prepared for the influx of weekend visitors.

For those who prefer a more relaxed mountain experience, 1484 by Puro will also reopen its doors on January 31st. As the highest restaurant in the UAE, it has become a bucket-list destination for its stunning panoramic views and refined menu. The restaurant will resume its full operating schedule, welcoming guests from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. It remains a popular spot for a sunrise breakfast or a sunset dinner, providing a tranquil escape from the bustling city life below.

Staggered Resumption of Services

While the core attractions are available this weekend, a few specific experiences are scheduled to return slightly later. Jais Sky Tour, the immersive two-hour adventure that features six different ziplines across a five-kilometer stretch, is set to resume operations on Saturday, February 7th. This allows for a staggered approach to the reopening, ensuring that every element of the mountain’s infrastructure is perfectly aligned with the highest standards of safety and care.

Similarly, Puro Express, the convenient dining outlet located at the Jais Viewing Deck Park, will also reopen on February 7th. Its operating hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., providing additional refreshment options for those spending the day at the viewing points.

Planning Your Visit

In line with the updated operational guidelines, access to the mountain remains managed to ensure a high-quality experience for all guests. To enter the Jebel Jais area, visitors must have a confirmed booking for one of the signature experiences, such as Jais Flight or a reservation at 1484 by Puro. Alternatively, visitors can purchase a Jais Viewing Deck Park ticket for AED 10 at the security entrance. This modest fee allows access to the viewing points, which offer some of the best photography opportunities in the Middle East.

Donald Bremner, the CEO of Marjan Lifestyle, noted that the reopening is focused on creating spaces where communities can reconnect. He emphasized that the mountain is a place of energy and movement, and the team is eager to welcome visitors back to experience that sense of connection in a safe and well-maintained environment.

A Destination for Every Interest

Jebel Jais has successfully positioned itself as a multi-faceted destination that appeals to a broad demographic. Under the pillars of “Educate, Energize, and Escape,” the mountain serves as a natural wonder reimagined for the modern explorer. For the expatriate population in particular, it represents a vital escape from the urban environment. The ability to drive just a few hours from Dubai or Abu Dhabi and find yourself in a temperate, high-altitude climate is a significant part of the UAE’s lifestyle appeal.

As the winter season progresses, the mountain is expected to see a high volume of visitors. The authorities encourage guests to plan their trips in advance and stay updated through official channels. The gradual reopening of experiences ensures that there is always something new to look forward to as the season continues.

With the return of hiking, cycling, dining, and world-record ziplining, Jebel Jais is once again ready to serve as the heart of outdoor adventure in the UAE. Whether you are looking to challenge yourself physically or simply wish to breathe in the fresh mountain air at 1,934 meters above sea level, the reopening this Saturday is the news the outdoor community has been waiting for.
