Dubai is set to expand its retail landscape with the launch of Skylight Mall, a new super-regional shopping and lifestyle destination scheduled to open in 2027. Dubai Retail, part of Dubai Holding Asset Management, unveiled the project on October 6, 2026, announcing that the mall will be located along Al Khail Road.

Skylight Mall will span 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA) and will feature more than 360 stores. The development will combine retail, dining, entertainment and everyday services within one destination. According to Dubai Retail, the mall has been designed to provide a mix of shopping and lifestyle experiences for both residents and visitors.

The mall’s location along Al Khail Road is intended to provide access to residents of several surrounding communities, including Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT), Jumeirah Islands and The Springs, as well as neighbouring areas. Dubai Retail said the location will allow the destination to serve thousands of residents and visitors within one of Dubai’s key residential corridors.

Skylight Mall will feature a contemporary architectural design with expansive interiors and interconnected spaces. Dubai Retail said these spaces will connect shopping, dining, entertainment and social experiences throughout the destination. The company has positioned the development as a destination that combines everyday convenience with lifestyle experiences.

The more than 360 stores will form the core of the mall’s retail offering. Dubai Retail has said the destination will bring together leading retail, dining and entertainment brands under one roof. However, the company has not yet announced a complete list of individual brands that will operate at Skylight Mall.

The development will also expand Dubai Retail’s existing portfolio. Following the addition of Skylight Mall, the company’s portfolio will comprise 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across Dubai. Its existing portfolio includes destinations such as Palm Jumeirah Mall, Nad Al Sheba Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dragon Mart and The Outlet Village, as well as Bluewaters, JBR, Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Palm West Beach.

Dubai Retail described Skylight Mall as part of its continued investment in retail destinations that respond to changing customer expectations and Dubai’s urban growth. The company said the project will further diversify its portfolio and add another large-scale destination to the emirate’s retail sector.

The announcement comes as Dubai continues to expand its retail and lifestyle infrastructure. Skylight Mall will join the emirate’s existing network of major shopping destinations while providing another retail hub along the Al Khail Road corridor.

At present, 2027 is the confirmed opening year, while an exact opening date or month has not been announced. Further information about the mall’s individual tenants and specific entertainment and dining concepts has also yet to be released by Dubai Retail.

With 1.3 million square feet of gross leasable area and more than 360 stores, Skylight Mall is set to become a significant addition to Dubai’s retail sector when it opens in 2027.
