How to Get Into Zayed International Airport as a Visitor
First, you need to register in advance and obtain a digital security pass in PDF format. This pass comes with a QR code that gets scanned at checkpoints, shops, and exit points throughout your visit. When you leave, you have to return the security badge to a designated area. Skip that step, and you could lose eligibility for future visits.
Personal electronic devices like laptops and tablets are not allowed inside during your visit. Your phone situation was not specified in the announcement, so expect security staff to clarify that at entry.
Only UAE ID holders can participate. If you are bringing the kids, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. You cannot just show up either. Entry runs through a booking system, and appointments have to be made in advance. If plans change on the day, you need to contact the airport directly and get a new entry pass issued.
Parking is covered for up to four hours, as long as you spend a minimum of Dh200 inside and collect a validation voucher before you leave. Payments at exit points are cashless only, so bring your bank card.
What You Can and Cannot Do Inside
Once you are in, the experience is fairly straightforward. You can shop and dine at the airport’s retail and food outlets the same way any departing passenger would. Standard VAT applies to all purchases.
There are a couple of things off the table though. Tobacco and alcohol are not available under this initiative. Since access is being granted without a boarding pass, those categories are restricted for the duration of the programme.
