The Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026 Festival is now in full swing at the Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village. This year marks the 14th edition of the popular cultural event. The festival explores a specific theme called “Civilizations: Under the Same Sky.” It looks at how human choices, new ideas, and trade help different cultures grow and change. As the event enters its third weekend, from January 30 to February 1, the program moves its focus toward international stories and global artistic voices.

Visitors to the heritage village will see a large variety of work. The festival includes pieces from 106 artists who come from 49 different countries. This shows how art can reach people across borders and change how we see the world. After a successful second weekend that focused on families and pets, this third weekend brings together local and international talent through art, live music, and hands-on classes.

Live Music and Global Performances

The third weekend offers a wide range of live entertainment to celebrate different cultures. On Friday, January 30, the events start at 4:00 p.m. with the “Around the World Parade.” This is a bright and colorful march where school groups and performers lead delegations representing different countries through the village. The parade leads into cultural shows that celebrate the traditions of India, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, and the Philippines.

As the evening continues, the music becomes more diverse. Guests can listen to the guitar rhythms and Parisian style of The Gypsy Swing Project at Abdul Karim’s House. This is followed by a performance from Cuban singer Ivonne. To end the Friday schedule, Italian DJ Renzo will play a set at The Fort.

On Saturday, the music program continues with more global sounds. Nabeel Khan, an expert at the sarangi, will play a mix of classical Indian music and modern world styles. The day also features the indie energy of the Zarooni Sound Society and a show by Fabre, whose music mixes jazz, gospel, and R&B. On Sunday, the entertainment ends with a performance called “Spirit of the East,” led by Iranian oud player Hooman Shirali.

Outdoor Cinema and Public Talks

Film is also a big part of the cultural exchange this weekend. On Sunday at 8:00 p.m., the festival hosts an outdoor movie night to show “Tales from the Magic Garden.” This event is organized with the European Union Delegation to the UAE. The film uses stop-motion animation to tell a story about how imagination and storytelling can help people during difficult times. This movie is meant to be a great experience for visitors of all ages.

For those who want to learn more about the festival themes, there is a speaker series at the Visitors’ Centre in Zone B on Saturday, January 31. This session looks at how civilizations change and the effects of migration. Expert speakers like Dr. Neha Vora, Farah Ali, Professor Anju Pal, and Homa Farley will lead the talk and share their knowledge.

Food Experiences at The Hidden Table

Food is another way the festival looks at the history of civilizations. From January 30 to February 1, the special dining area called “The Hidden Table” hosts a pop-up by Bungalo34. This restaurant brings the relaxed style of the Riviera to Ras Al Khaimah. Guests can try fresh Mediterranean food between 2:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. While you can walk in if there is space, it is a good idea to book early because seating is limited.

There is also a guided food tour on January 30. This tour takes people through the small streets of the old town in Ras Al Khaimah. It gives fans of local food a chance to find hidden spots and taste traditional dishes that have been part of the community for a long time.

Workshops and Creative Classes

The festival lets visitors get involved with art through many different workshops. On Saturday, January 31, the classes focus on making things by hand. Artist Hakim Elhaj will lead a pottery painting class, while Andrew Tarica will teach a travel photography workshop. There is also a clay crafting session with Dyae El Gharbaoui.

On Sunday, February 1, the classes focus on patterns and old cultural designs. A Moroccan Zellij workshop will teach people about the art of making patterns with collage. This is followed by “Threads of Civilizations,” an embroidery class with Alina El Assadi. This workshop looks at stitched designs inspired by old cultures and personal stories.

Visiting the Heritage Village

In addition to the main events, you can join heritage tours and art tours all weekend. The heritage tours teach you about the history of Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village. The art tours give you more information about the different exhibitions across the site. The village is a great setting for the festival because its history adds more meaning to the modern art on display.

Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026 is a month-long celebration that ends on February 8. It is a space where people can share their heritage and see new art. The third weekend specifically focuses on the international community. Entry to the festival grounds is free for the public, but some workshops and meals require a paid ticket. You can sign up on the official festival website to save your spot for this major cultural event.
