Dubai has evolved beyond being just a travel hub or a temporary stopover for tax-free earnings. As we settle into 2026 the city stands out as a permanent base for professionals who want stability in an unpredictable world. The combination of world-class infrastructure and a government that actively listens to its residents has created an environment where people do not just survive but thrive. It is a place where ambitious career goals coexist with a safe and relaxed family life.

For the millions of people who call this city home the decision to move here was not just about money. It was about finding a system that works efficiently and a society that values tolerance. The year 2025 provided definitive proof that the United Arab Emirates has cemented its status as a global leader in quality of life. The data released over the last twelve months confirms that the country is outperforming traditional expatriate strongholds like the United States and the United Kingdom.

The 2025 Verdict: What the Data Says

The global consensus on Dubai has never been clearer. Major reports released in 2025 confirm that the UAE is the top choice for professionals seeking a balanced life. According to the 2025 World Happiness Report the UAE ranks as the happiest country in the Arab world and holds the 21st spot globally. This ranking places it ahead of major Western nations including France and the United States. The report highlights that the country’s success is built on strong social support and the freedom to make life choices.

The data shows that residents are genuinely satisfied with their daily lives. A massive 94% of people living in the UAE described themselves as “happy” or “very happy” in 2025 which is significantly higher than the long-term average of 92%. This sentiment is backed by the InterNations Expat Insider 2025 survey which named the UAE the #1 country in the world for “Expat Essentials”. This specific category tracks how easy it is to set up digital services, find housing and navigate local administration without speaking the local language. While other nations struggle with red tape the UAE has streamlined these processes to near perfection allowing new arrivals to settle in within days.

Safety is another non-negotiable factor that keeps expats in Dubai. The Numbeo Safety Index 2025 ranked the UAE as the safest country in the world with a score of 85.2. This score beats out other traditionally safe nations like Qatar and Andorra. For families this means they can enjoy outdoor activities at night without the security concerns that plague other major cities.

Financial growth remains a huge draw for global talent. The Expat Insider report rated the UAE economy as the #1 economy in the world for foreign workers. The survey found that 78% of expats believe moving to the UAE improved their career prospects compared to a global average of just 55%. This confidence is driven by booming sectors like technology and healthcare which continue to expand while other global markets face recession fears.

A Second Home for the Pakistani Community

For Pakistanis the appeal of Dubai goes far beyond the statistics and rankings. The UAE is home to a massive community of approximately 1.9 million Pakistanis which makes them the second-largest expatriate group in the country after Indian nationals. This density ensures that new arrivals never feel isolated or out of place. You can find authentic food, familiar languages and a support system that feels exactly like home.

The deep connection between the two nations was visible to the world during the 2025 Independence Day celebrations. A historic event titled “Jashn-e-Azaadi Pakistan 2025” was held at Expo City Dubai and attracted a record-breaking crowd of over 60,000 people. The event featured performances by top stars like Sahir Ali Bagga and Humayun Saeed and highlighted the freedom Pakistanis feel to celebrate their culture in the Emirates. Events like these fill the loneliness gap that many expats feel when they leave their home country giving them a space to express their patriotism proudly.

Ease of travel is another practical reason why Dubai is the top choice for this demographic. A flight to Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad takes less than three hours. This proximity allows expats to visit parents for the weekend or attend family weddings without the stress of long-haul flights. It bridges the physical gap that usually comes with working abroad and keeps families connected.

The economic bond is just as strong as the cultural one. In the first seven months of 2025 alone tens of thousands of Pakistanis moved to the UAE on employment visas. These workers send critical financial support back home to their families. Data from the State Bank of Pakistan shows that remittances from the Gulf region account for a major portion of the billions sent to Pakistan annually which supports the national economy back home.

Dubai offers a rare mix of economic power and cultural comfort that is hard to find elsewhere. For the global expat it provides safety and efficiency. For the Pakistani resident it offers all of that plus the warmth of a community that is deeply rooted in the city’s fabric.

Let’s see what the 2026 survey would indicate. Stay tuned!
