After years of waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI finally has a confirmed date, price and editions.
Rockstar Games has locked a release date, opened pre-orders, confirmed pricing, and revealed two editions for Grand Theft Auto VI. Here is what is officially known so far, kept separate from the rumors still circulating.
Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. The game arrives on two platforms only, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. There is no last-generation version for the PS4 or Xbox One, and no Nintendo release.
GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
The date has moved before. The first trailer in December 2023 pointed to a 2025 window. Rockstar later set the launch for May 2026, then pushed it to its current November date, each time citing the need for more polish. In February 2026, Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick said the November 19 target remained on track.
A PC version is the biggest open question. Rockstar has not announced a PC release, a price, or system requirements. Earlier GTA games reached PC well after their console launches, which is why many expect the same pattern, though nothing is official.
GTA 6 Editions, Price, and Pre-Order Bonuses
Pre-orders opened worldwide on June 25, 2026, days after Rockstar revealed the official cover art featuring the two lead characters, Jason and Lucia.
There are two editions. The Standard Edition costs $79.99 and includes the full single-player game. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and adds extra digital content, including premium vehicles, apparel, personalized weapons, and exclusive vehicle mod shops. Players who buy Standard can upgrade to Ultimate later.
Every pre-order placed before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, a set of in-game items inspired by the 2002 original and its protagonist Tommy Vercetti. The bonus is tied to ordering early rather than to the edition, so Standard buyers receive it too. Pre-ordering through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store also adds a complimentary month of GTA+.
A few logistics matter. Digital preload begins November 12, one week before launch. Physical copies sold in stores contain a download code rather than a disc. The $79.99 Standard price marks a $10 increase over the previous $69.99 standard for major releases.
GTA 6 Map and Setting: Return to Vice City
Grand Theft Auto VI returns to Vice City, Rockstar’s version of Miami, for the first time since 2002. The city now sits inside a larger fictional state called Leonida, modeled on Florida.
Rockstar’s official site confirms several distinct regions. Vice City is the main urban area, built around waterways, Art Deco architecture, and beachfront. The Leonida Keys are a chain of island communities to the south, where the story begins. Grassrivers is the studio’s version of the Everglades, full of swamps and subtropical wilderness.
The full map looks far larger than past games. Community mapping projects using leaked data estimate the landmass at more than twice the size of the map in Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has described the world as a parody of 2020s American culture, with satirical takes on social media, influencer culture, and modern policing. The game is single-player and built as an open world, with Jason and Lucia confirmed as the two playable leads.
Several popular topics remain unconfirmed. There is no announced third trailer, no PC release window, and no exact regional launch times. Rockstar has said more trailers, gameplay footage, and details on GTA Online will arrive in the months before release. For now the calendar is the headline.
November 19, 2026 is locked, pre-orders are live, and the rest will fill in as Rockstar’s marketing rolls out.
